For those who aren't into Gundam Modeling (Gunpla), this is a pretty complex model kit that results in a pretty poseable "action figure". It's not really a toy, and if you play with it like one, then it will break. Fast. The upside is that they are extremely fun to build (no glue!) and require minimum paint and detailing compared to western model kits (like Revell airplanes and the like). And despite not being kindergarten-grade toughness, they are still fun to fiddle around with after you build them.

As I said in the title, this is not what you want if you're just getting into modeling mobile suits. This particular model transforms into the Wave Rider Mode, which looks kind of like a fighter jet, which is neat. The transforming process isn't simple, though, you're going to want to keep the directions around if you don't plan on daily practice.

If you're familiar with Gunpla, I would definitely recommend this kit. Why?:
1) Comes with a stand that fits both suit and Wave-rider mode
2) Comes with the regular beam rifle and the Mega Beam Cannon, the giant blue one, and both guns have a surprising amount of poseability by themselves. Plus the forearm grenade launchers.
3) Both guns can fit on the transformed version
4) Altogether a well-built kit with almost no poseability problems, especially with the included stand, which is by itself a pretty interesting piece.

There's only a couple downsides I can think of- mainly, transformation is time consuming and uncharacteristically poorly illustrated. It took me way longer than it should have to get it working. The other thing is the hands kind of suck. They're average for an MG kit, but seem pretty lame after the MG 2.0 Zaku kit. A minor nitpick is that in suit mode, it's hard to get the regular beam rifle to stay on the forearm mounting when it's holding the Mega Beam Cannon.
